Nebraska Middle Blockers Unstoppable in Victory Over Kansas - Huskers.com - Nebraska Athletics Official Web Site

Middle blockers Amber Holmquist and Melissa Elmer combined for 16 blocks and 21 kills on a .724 hitting percentage to lead the No. 5 Nebraska volleyball team to a 30-22, 30-25, 30-15 win over Kansas before 4,049 fans at the NU Coliseum Wednesday night.

 

Holmquist, a senior from Houston, Texas, tallied a season-high 16 kills on a .700 clip while adding 11 blocks for her second double-double of the year. Elmer, a redshirt freshman from Fort Wayne, Ind., posted seven kills and zero errors on nine attacks for a season-best .778 hitting percentage.

 

Holmquist and Elmer led Nebraska to a season-high 18 blocks, and NU held Kansas to a .107 hitting percentage.

 

With the victory, the Huskers improved to 25-1 overall and 7-0 in the conference, and NU secured its 10th consecutive 25-win season.
