Nebraska Defeats Hawaii 3-1

Richmond, Va. - For the fourth time in school history, the Nebraska volleyball team will play for the NCAA national championship. The top-ranked Huskers secured a spot in the 2000 title match with a 15-3, 15-12, 9-15, 15-10, defeat of Hawaii Thursday before 7,784 fans in the first of two national semifinal matches Thursday at the Richmond Coliseum.
Nebraska will face Wisconsin Saturday at 2:30 p.m. (CST). The national championship match will be televised live by ESPN2.
The Huskers, 33-0, overpowered Hawaii (32-1) with their block. NU out-blocked the Rainbow Wahine 23.0-7.5, with junior middle blocker Jenny Kropp and sophomore middle blocker Amber Holmquist each totaling 10 blocks.
