James shuts down Creighton as NU wins 12th straight

Omaha, Neb. -- Freshman Peaches James threw a two-hit shutout as the No. 18 Nebraska softball team defeated Creighton, 4-0, Wednesday night at the Creighton Softball Complex. With the victory, James, who struck out seven and pitched 6 2/3 innings of no-hit ball, improved her record to 5-4, and the Huskers kept their winning streak alive at 12 straight.
Freshman rightfielder Danelle Arnold led NU at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a double. Amanda Buchholz and Leigh Suhr also had two hits as the Huskers collected a total of 10 from CU pitcher Jenny Hunt.
NU (22-9) is now 2-0 against the Bluejays (9-14) in 2001, with a 3-2 win over them March 11 at the Creighton Spring Classic. The two teams will square off two more times this season.
