By NU Athletic Communications
Sacramento, Calif. -- Sophomore Peaches James was 4-for-5 with two home runs, five RBIs and four runs scored Saturday to lead the fifth-ranked Nebraska softball team to an 11-0 win over IUPUI and a 6-3 victory over Kansas in the first day of bracket play at the Capital Classic.

James was also impressive on the mound, combining with Lisa Wangler for a no-hit shutout against IUPUI (3-10), and picking up the save against Kansas while tossing two innings of scoreless relief. Walker was the winning pitcher against KU (14-10), allowing three earned runs on nine hits while striking out two Jayhawks.

With the wins, the Huskers improved to 23-5 and lengthened their streak of consecutive wins to 17. Nebraska, 6-0 in tournament play, will face the winner of Miami and UNLV in a semifinal game at 11 a.m. Central Sunday. A win would put NU in the 1 p.m. championship game at the Sacramento Softball Complex.
