Amber Holmquist and Jennifer Saleaumua combined for 23 kills as the No. 4 Nebraska volleyball team defeated the Colorado Buffaloes 30-23, 30-20, 30-26 on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at the Coors Event Center in Boulder, Colo. With the win, Nebraska improves to 20-1 overall and 12-0 in the BIg 12 Conference, while Colorado falls to 11-11 and 5-7.
Despite hitting .260, far below their season average, the Huskers found ways to keep the Buffs off-balance. Colorado hit only .056 in the match, as senior middle blocker Amber Holmquist posted 10 blocks.
Saleaumua led the Huskers with 12 kills on a .323 hitting percentage, while Holmquist swung for a match-high .364 percentage with 11 kills. Senior outside hitter Laura Pilakowski also added 11 kills on the night.
Colorado middle blocker Meghan Barkman hit .296 with 12 kills, providing much of the Buffs
