Huskers Pick Up Series Sweep with 2-1 Win Over OSU

Stillwater, Okla. -- The No. 4 Nebraska softball team completed a series sweep with a 2-1 win over Oklahoma State Sunday in its opening weekend of Big 12 Conference play. With the win, Nebraska improved to 28-5 overall and 2-0 in the Big 12 while lengthening its school-record streak of consecutive wins to 22. The Huskers defeated OSU 3-2 in nine innings Saturday in their league opener.
Walker (14-2) gave up one run on four hits while striking out five OSU players in 6.1 innings of work at Cowgirl Stadium, and the senior righthander did not allow a walk. Peaches James was credited with the save, allowing one hit in the seventh.
Lauren Bay, who set an OSU single-game record with 19 strikeouts against NU Saturday, took the loss for the Cowgirl (20-11). Bay (13-6) allowed two runs on three hits while striking out eight Huskers and yielding five walks.
