Starting a two-game conference road swing this week, the Nebraska Cornhuskers will take on the Kansas State Wildcats on Wednesday, Jan. 22, in Manhattan, Kan. The game will tip off at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast live on the Pinnacle Sports Network and Huskers.com, with Randy Lee calling the action alongside color commentator Dave Campbell.
Nebraska (9-7, 1-2 Big 12) will be looking to reach .500 in the Big 12 standings with their second straight league victory while the Wildcats (10-6, 1-2 Big 12) will be searching for a way to end a two-game conference losing skid. The Huskers and Wildcats have split the regular-season series in seven of the past 10 years, with NU sweeping the series twice and KSU once.
The Huskers will have their hands full as the home team has won 15 of the last 20 regular-season meetings. Nebraska nearly hit the century mark in a 99-82 victory at the Devaney Center last year before KSU split the series with a 67-58 victory in the regular-season finale in Manhattan.
For the Huskers to get their first true road win of the season, Nebraska will have to have the same type of strong shooting performance that helped it to an 80-77 overtime victory against Colorado last Saturday. NU hit 44.3 percent from the floor, including a season-high 44.4 percent from three-point range, while limiting the Buffaloes to just 39.7 percent shooting.
