STILLWATER, OKLA.--After winning four straight dual meets, the 13th-ranked Nebraska wrestling team (5-2) lost to No. 1 Oklahoma State, 31-6, Sunday at the Gallagher-Iba Arena. The Cowboys moved to 9-0 for the season, while winning their 54th consecutive dual meet and fourth straight dual over the Huskers.

Seniors Jose DeAnda and Scott Munson won matches for the Huskers on Sunday. DeAnda (12-0, 7-0), ranked ninth in the nation at 141 pounds, remained undefeated by edging Charles Walker, 3-2, in the meet's sixth match.

Munson (10-2, 6-1), an All-Big 12 and NWCA Academic All-American from Arkansas City, Kan., who is ranked 17th in the nation at 197 pounds, defeated Oklahoma State's Josh Cruzan, 5-4, in the second match of the dual to tie the score, 3-3.

The first match of the dual featured OSU's fifth-ranked Mark Munoz and ninth-ranked Brad Vering in the 184-pound matchup. Vering jumped out to a 4-1 lead early and held a 5-2 advantage after the second period, but Munoz came back to tie the match with a takedown with 22 seconds left in the final period. Neither wrestler scored in the overtime period, so the match between Munoz and Vering was decided with a tiebreaker. In the tiebreaker, Munoz chose the down position, and with 20 seconds remaining, Munoz was awarded a point as Vering committed a technical violation by locking hands, making the final score 6-5 in favor of Munoz.

Huskers Bryan Snyder and Josh Henson also performed well, but came up short to a duo of strong Cowboy competitors. Snyder (9-2, 5-2) was handed just his second dual loss of the season by OSU's fourth-ranked Jimmy Arias, 3-2, in the 157 pound matchup. At 165 pounds, Josh Henson lost to Ty Wilcox after holding a 5-2 lead at the end of the second period. Wilcox tied the match with 20 seconds remaining and preserved the 7-5 victory with a two-point near fall with 12 seconds left in the contest.

In other action, 19th-ranked Dave Anderton defeated NU's J.R. Plienis, 5-0, in the heavyweight division. At 125 pounds, Oklahoma State's Teague Moore won by forfiet.

Two Cowboy wrestlers ranked No. 1 at their respective weight classes recorded major decisions against Nebraska. OSU's Mark Smith, undefeated and ranked first at 174 pounds, earned a 15-3 major decision over Charles McTorry. Cowboy Eric Guerrero, 9-0 on the season and ranked first at 133 pounds, earned a 14-1 major decision over Todd Beckerman.

In the 149-pound contest, seventh-ranked Reggie Wright remained undefeated for Oklahoma State by pinning Husker Joe Henson at 1:29. The loss was Joe Henson's first dual loss on the season.

Oklahoma State was deducted one team point for unsportmanlike conduct after Wright pinned Joe Henson.

Nebraska will host South Dakota State in a dual on Thursday, Jan. 7, at 7:30 p.m. In addition, the Huskers will play host to the Great Plains Open on Saturday, Jan. 9, beginning at 9 a.m.
