Huskers Explode Offensively in 9-1 Big 12 Tournament Victory
Oklahoma City, Okla. -- The 11th-ranked Nebraska softball team racked up 14 hits to tie its season-high total and claim a 9-1 run-rule victory over Missouri Wednesday night before 1,115 fans at Don Porter Hall of Fame Stadium in the first round of the Big 12 Tournament.

Senior first baseman Jamie Fuente and junior second baseman Leigh Suhr both went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Huskers. Leigh Ann Walker (20-6) was the winning pitcher for Nebraska, allowing one run on two hits and striking out nine of the 19 batters she faced in six innings of work.

The top-seeded Huskers improved to 48-11, while Missouri fell to 30-27. Nebraska, which is 16-6 all-time in the Big 12 Tournament, will face the winner of fourth-seeded Kansas and fifth-seeded Oklahoma State Thursday at 5 p.m. The Jayhawks and Sooners square off at 11 a.m.
