Lincoln -- Quarterback Eric Crouch rushed for 127 yards and career-high four touchdowns, as No. 5/6 Nebraska rolled over Kansas, 56-17, in front of a Memorial Stadium record crowd of 78,096 Saturday.

Nebraska, which improves to 8-1 on the season and 5-1 in the Big 12, scored touchdowns on six of its first seven possessions and rushed for 400 yards for the fourth time this season en route to its 32nd consecutive win over the Jayhawks (4-5, 2-3).

Crouch topped the 100-yard mark on the ground for the fourth time this season and became Nebraska's all-time quarterback rushing leader, passing former NU All-American Steve Taylor, who rushed for 2,125 yards from 1985 to 1988. Crouch has now rushed for 2,152 yards in his three-year career. He also completed 3-of-3 passes for 15 yards, including a 3-yard touchdown to Tracey Wistrom in the second quarter.

Crouch's four rushing scores equaled a NU quarterback record held by three others, most recently Scott Frost in 1997, and he led NU on six touchdowns in seven possessions.

The win streak over the Jayhawks extends back to 1968, and is the second-longest winning streak over an opponent in Division I-A history, while the win today also marked NU's 32nd straight homecoming win.

In all, three Huskers topped the 100-yard mark, a feat only accomplished one other time in school history. Starting I-back Dan Alexander rushed for 119 yards, while Correll Buckhalter finished with 100 yards and a 4-yard touchdown run five minutes into the third quarter.

The only other time Nebraska had three players rush for more than 100 yards in a game was in 1988 when Ken Clark, Steve Taylor and Terry Rodgers accomplished the feat against Arizona State.

At halftime, Jason Mashek and Tracy Porter were selected as Homecoming King and Queen, respectively.
