Husker Men Win Wildcat Invite; NU Women Place Second

Manhattan, Kan. -- Led by five event winners, the Nebraska men's track and field team finished first at the Wildcat Invitational on Sunday afternoon, while the Husker women placed second to host Kansas State at Ahearn Field House.

The NU men scored 192 points, topping Kansas State (161), Wichita State (155) and Oklahoma State (57). On the women's side, Kansas State scored 148 points, followed by Nebraska (123) and Wichita State (93).

"I thought that the team effort was good for the first meet of the season," Nebraska Head Coach Gary Pepin said. "I was glad the men could win. We just have to keep getting better as a team each week."

Nebraska freshman thrower Becky Breisch posted the Huskers' first NCAA automatic qualifying mark of the season with a toss of 52-10
