Cowboys Cool off Huskers in 60-48 Victory
Peterson led the Cowboy second-half surge, scoring eight points in a 12-2 second-half run as Oklahoma State (17-6 overall, 8-5 Big 12) broke a three-game losing streak. Peterson, who leads the Big 12 in scoring at 18.0 ppg, hit four of his five 3-pointers after halftime as OSU ended the Huskers' four-game winning streak.
Nebraska, which falls to 17-9 overall and 9-4 in the Big 12, trailed 32-26 at the half before Venson Hamilton sparked a second-half run, scoring six of his 20 points as the Huskers closed to within 35-34 with 14:52 remaining.
Hamilton, who was 10-of-14 shooting from the floor, recorded his 14th double-double of the season with 20 points and a game-high 15 rebounds. Hamilton was the only Nebraska player in double figures, as the rest of the Huskers combined for 28 points and were one-of-16 from 3-point range.
Nebraska, which entered tonight's contest winning nineof its last 10contests, used a 7-1 run to cut the Cowboy lead to 52-48 before OSU guard Joe Adkins ended NU's comeback attempt with a 3-pointer, beating the shot clock buzzer, with 1:59 remaining. Adkins finished with 11 points, including 3-of-6 from 3-point range, as the Cowboys were 8-of-23 from beyond the arc on the day.
