Buchholz?s Three-run Homer Lifts Nebraska to 4-2 Win Over Bradley
Lincoln, Neb. - Amanda Buchholz smacked a three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth to lead the No. 17 Nebraska softball team to a 4-2, come-from-behind victory over Bradley Monday afternoon at the NU Softball Complex. With the win, the Huskers, 5-1 in the Big 12 Conference, improved to 30-10 overall, while Bradley fell to 7-9.
Trailing 2-1 after a two-run fourth inning by Bradley, Nebraska rattled BU pitcher Cristin Evans and rallied in the sixth. Freshman leftfielder Nicole Trimboli starting things off with a one-out single to right. Jamie Fuente starred Evans down and earned a walk as Trimboli advanced to second. Amber Burgess flied out to bring up Buchholz. The sophomore shortstop had a full count before ripping a two-out homer over the centerfield fence for the 4-2 lead. Danelle Arnold flied out to center to end the inning.
