<?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Austin, Texas- Freshman Lana Baker became the first Nebraska swimmer under head coach Pablo Morales to qualify for the finals in an individual event, as the Huskers continued to swim well at the 2003 Phillips 66 Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championships at the Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin. <?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>

 

Baker touched the wall in 1:04.25 and is the eighth seed going into the finals of the 100-yard breaststroke. Freshman Rachel Schlatter just missed a berth in the finals, but is the 10th seed overall and will swim in the consolation finals after finishing in 1:04.57 in the prelims. Junior Angie Matheu placed 14th overall (1:05.51) and will swim in the consolation final as well. Freshman Katrina Sandeberg (1:07.08) and junior Laura Landgreen (1:08.42) will swim in the bonus final as well.
