Nebraska junior Richelle Simpson has been selected to compete on the Canadian National Team. Following the Canadian Gymnastics Championships, the Toronto, Ontario, native qualified for the 2003 Pan American Games and World Championships Trials, scheduled July 12-13 at Sport Seneca in Toronto.

In competition, Simpson demonstrated her ability to make a significant contribution to the team with strong performances in all four events. Simpson performed "out-of-competition" at the Canadian Championships. Her AA total was 35.225, which was equivalent to a fourth-place all-around finish. In addition, she would have ranked second on vault, second on floor exercise and sixth on beam.
