DALLAS -- Nebraska sophomore Brian Duensing (Omaha, Neb.) was selected as the Phillips 66 Big 12 Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week in voting by a select panel of media covering Big 12 baseball for games played from Feb. 25-Mar. 3.

Duensing blanked then-No. 7 Wake Forest, 6-0, in the Dairy Queen Classic at the Metrodome in Minneapolis Saturday evening. The left-hander from Omaha threw his first-ever complete game, scattering five hits and recording a career-high nine strikeouts. A freshman All-American a year ago, Duensing is 3-0 with a 1.31 ERA this spring and leads the Huskers with 20 strikeouts in just 20.2 innings. The Huskers enter this weekend
