Nebraska Wide Receiver Alex Bullock Pre-Michigan Press Conference

On the pride of blocking down field
“Yeah it’s been huge ever since Coach Rhule and the staff have been here. Coach (Garret) McGuire always emphasizes it every day in practice. Touchdowns, blocks, receivers are usually the last line or block before the run break. So we take a lot of pride in it and it’s just showing love to your teammates because you want them to be successful. If you don’t make those blocks then those runs won’t happen sometimes.”

On the perimeter blocking
“We I mean even just today we probably spent three periods during practice as receivers just blocking and working on the run game. We’re half and half almost at practice. We’re run block, and then just catch the ball. So, running routes is a big part of our offense and we know that. Our offense counts on us to perimeter block and it’s a big part of the offense.”

On blocking and the penalty called last game
“People often ask me what’s the hardest part about playing receiver. It’s blocking because the DB or whoever you’re blocking can see the play, and you can’t. So, it’s hard to know when to let go or when someone is running by you. But, yeah usually you just have to react quick if you feel him coming off of you because the guy is running by and you gotta let go. It’s unfortunate that I was called, I can't do anything about that but you just gotta learn from it and move on.”

On the improvements he has made based off of penalties from last week’s game
“I try to keep my hands inside and then run your feet. Drive them. For those plays I think it was outside runs. So, I’m trying to contain the outside. I had to let the running back go or come off my outside and I try to keep him on the inside. If he comes off like that then I have to let him go.”
