Nebraska Tight End Thomas Fidone Pre-UTEP Press Conference

On playing at home
“Obviously, we’re excited to come in and open the season in front of the fans and be able to put on a show for the state. Obviously, this is our home turf, so we have to defend it and play to our ability.”

On what people should expect from Dylan Raiola
“I think they can expect a great player, someone who does everything right, all the small things right. I was just talking out there – there was someone who came and spoke to us and said there’s magic in the minutia. I think that Dylan is someone who embodies that. I’ll be in here on the weekends when no one else is in here or very few people are in here, and he’s in the weight room, doing all the small things and getting his body right – stretches and arm workouts and things like that. He does everything right to go out there and be successful on the field.”

On the emotions in the few days before an opener
“It’s exciting, once we’re there, being able to look at someone else other than our defense that we’ve been going against the last few months. I think that’s exciting for us as a team. It’s a little different, but we can’t treat it any differently just because it’s a game, I guess. We just have to go out there and play to the level we’ve been practicing at and preparing for.”
