Nebraska Tight End Thomas Fidone II Pre-Northern Illinois Press Conference

On the adjustment after Colorado’s game:

“It’s been good honestly. The best way to get better or good at football, and practice helps, is to get real playing time. Playing football is the best way to get better at it. It’s been really good and obviously I have large strides to make, but it’s expected. It doesn’t change my goals that I’ve told everyone here before and it’s been good, I love it.”

On practicing in pads this week:

“It’s been good and actually I thought I had one of my better practices today. I felt good, I felt loose, I thought the offense and the whole team was meshing well together. We have to bounce back after what happened and continue with the what’s next mentality.”

On blocking:

“It’s been pretty good, obviously not where I want it to be. I’m a perfectionist at heart and everything can always be a little bit better. I have work to do in my blocking and everywhere. I think I’ve done pretty good, but there’s more to do.”

On Henrich Haarberg stepping in during the Colorado game:

“I think he did a great job coming in and stepping up. He was letting it fly and doing his thing. We were roommates freshman year in the suites and we lived together another year after that in a house. That’s been something we’ve talked about, I’m really happy for him and I’m happy to see him do his thing.”
