Nebraska Running Back Gabe Ervin Jr. Pre-Northern Illinois Press Conference

On the home opener:

“I love playing a game in front of the fans. The fans give us juice and energy. We always come in that way regardless but I love playing at home on our home turf in front of the fans. “

On the second half mistakes at Colorado:

“On the second half fumble, I’m going to take complete ownership of that. It touched my hands and I have to secure it in my gut. So, that fumble was all on me. I gotta move on and see what’s next with the next play and forget about it.”

On preparing for this week’s game:

“We’re going to take every opponent as the same. We’re going to treat these guys like they’re Michigan.  Northern Illinois has a great defense and a great defensive line. So we’re going to see what happens Saturday.”

On the importance of the offense this week:

“We have to execute, that’s the biggest word for this offense. We have to do our job to the fullest and we have to play free. We have to execute the job and keep the ball off the ground so the quarterback can find open receivers.”
