On the mentality going into next week:

“The starting position role doesn’t come to my brain too much. I still have to come in, show up everyday and attack it. Let nothing be taken for granted. I’m just going to keep on working hard and try to prepare for next week because that’s the first test and that’s going to be a good one.”

On if it’s an advantage have three veteran guys at the top of the depth chart:

“Yes. It’s an advantage being a veteran guy and leading the younger guys. We’re trying to get the young guys better. Rahmir (Johnson), Anthony (Grant) and I are trying to be the top three guys in the whole conference. That’s the standard going into week one. We’re trying to stamp down who we are, who we are as a running back room and what we are trying to do.”

On how he perceives his fall camp success:

“I simply just did my job. When you put the work in from day one than good things will happen. I try not to think too much about being number one. I’m just trying to do me because that can all be taken for granted. I still have to show up everyday and do my job, and do it to the best way I can.”

On his expectations for the season:

“Personal expectations, I really want to take that step forward and put my ability to work. Protect the QB and run the ball and do my job. Once I do those three things then it will take care of itself. Everything will happen when I do my job and I’m just going to focus on that. I want to play relentless disciplined and violent. Coach Rhule tells us all the time that if we do those three things then everything will take care of itself.”
