Nebraska Quarterback Dylan Raiola Pre-Colorado Press Conference
On the Colorado rivalry and his dad’s experience
“My dad said he never lost to them. This week he told me, ‘just so you know I never lost to them.’ I know the rivalry runs deep. You have to stay focused on the task at hand. You can’t get caught up in everything else. We just have to worry about playing football and doing our brand of football."
On his relationship with Shedeur Sanders
“I’ve never met him before but I have watched him for the past couple of years. I have a tremendous amount of respect for that guy – what he has to deal with everything that comes with being a Sanders. I just have a lot of respect for how he’s handled it. I think he’s an elite-level quarterback and he’s gonna give us what we want. We just have to prepare. – first round quarterback, the whole nine. I respect him a lot and am excited to compete.”
On conversations with coaches while watching film
“It’s obviously addressed. Whether good or bad, positive play or not. That’s what makes them such great coaches. They are trying to tell you what you did wrong, so you can fix it and get better. So, just taking the coaching and they’re very critical and that’s what you want. I mean nothing changes, they’re never going to apologize for a first down or a touchdown, but at the end of the day, just trying to figure out how you can be on a schedule, and make the read.
On preparing for primetime matchup
“You just prepare like you do for any other game. There’s going to be more cameras, more eyes with the hype-up of the game. You just have to keep it about football. Stay in the moment. It’s very cliche to say that, but I think our team does a very great job of acting on that. We’re going to approach it like a normal football game. Let the results be in at the end of the game and hopefully we’re on the winning side.”
