Nebraska Quarterback Chubba Purdy Pre-Iowa Press Conference

On recovery on Sunday post Saturday’s game as starting quarterback
“I woke up feeling a little sore. Obviously, that’s the most football I’ve played in the last year. So, I just have to get into recovery and get right for this week.”

On the rivalry with Iowa
“I learned obviously it’s been a rivalry for a super long time and everyone takes it really seriously so I think that’s awesome and I think there’s nothing like November when all the rival games are going on so it’s super special and they’re a great team and it’ll be a good game.”

On the closeness of the quarterback room and how that has evolved this season
“Me, Heinrich (Haarberg) and Jeff (Sims). We are all really tight. Off season we were all hanging out and whoever the next man up was for that game we were always there for each other, watching film with each other, giving each other encouragement and on the sidelines we’d ask them what they see. We’d go through our reads and coverages. I think our friendship is super tight and I think that’s what is important.”

On who stands out as having an impact on him
“Luke Reimer. He is my guy. Me and Luke are pretty tight. We have grown over the last year. We have bible study together. I am going to miss Luke a lot. He has been a great guy.”
