On the opportunity to play for Nebraska:

“I’ve been looking forward to it for a while. All this hard work during this fall camp, summer, winter. It’ll be good to go out there and play with all my fellow teammates.”

On why he fits in with the veteran o-linemen already:

“I think o-linemen all act the same, no matter who you are. Building that camaraderie and that chemistry with everyone was important to me when I first got here. I made that one of my primary focuses and now that we’re starting up the season, I think our chemistry is better than ever.”

On how he handles things going haywire as a center

“Not everything is going to be perfect. Coach Rhule always says ‘win the rep, what’s next’ and I think that really helps us out in the huddle and really calms ourselves down. What’s next, and we’ve got to take it one rep at a time and win that rep.”

On an opponent that he’d compare to Minnesota:

“I wouldn’t say anyone really compares to Minnesota. I think at the end of the day, football is football. Every team compares to Minnesota in a way. It’s just watching the film and preparing in practice. The looks that we get, that’s what’s really key for this.”
