Nebraska Offensive Coordinator Marcus Satterfield Pre-UCLA Press Conference
On challenges he sees from UCLA’s defense
“I think their record is very deceiving because they’ve played some really good teams. They have the same record against common opponents as we have. You watch them on defense, they’re very long, they’re very athletic, they’re physical. They can cause some headaches. We’re trying to figure out what they do, especially on third down, but it’s just a really impressive defensive unit as far as team speed, physicality and athleticism that you see on tape.”
On the the game plan against Ohio State
“We were just trying to get the ball out quick. That’s a very scary pass rush at times, so you don’t want to be standing back there the whole game holding the ball.”
On getting Thomas Fidone II more involved in the offense
“Giving him opportunities. His special trait is going vertically down the field. He’s extremely explosive and fast and can separate and use his body with 50/50 catches. Just giving him more opportunities as we go along the way to make more plays vertically down the field.”
On how John Hohl’s performance against Ohio State can help an offense and play calling
“It’s amazing. He just put on a show out here today. I’ll let Coach (Rhule) tell you all about that. Coach was putting him in some weird situations with the wind and he just kept coming through. It’s from a lot of hard work. We watch him every day, we come up to him as a team and watch him kick. From where it started to where it is now has been really cool to watch, how he’s developed and worked at it.”
