On what didn’t go right
“Got out played, got out couraged, against a good program, a good team. PJ (Fleck) does a good job, he’s been there eight years now, they've had a lot of success, they got great culture. They just beat us everywhere. I worry about offense and what we gotta do, obviously it wasn’t good enough. Just gotta challenge them to get better, we've played good offense this year, we know what it needs to look like, it just didn’t look like it. That starts with me, I'm responsible for what the offense of production is, so we gotta do better, we’ve gotta practice better, we’ve gotta prepare better and we've gotta go play better.”
On commonality of miscommunication
“It's everything. One time Emmett (Johnson) heard five-man protection, it was six-man protection or vice versa and that obviously can't happen. That's the easy part, the hard part is executing the assignment and blocking the guy to the point where Dylan (Raiola) has time to get rid of the football. This goes back to when we had this conversation a couple of weeks ago, receivers gotta run faster to get to their spots, obviously O-lines gotta protect better, Dylan’s gotta be comfortable in the pocket. There were some times where they weren’t sacks but they were hurries because he wasn't comfortable in the pocket, so he's gotta do a better job in the pocket, I gotta get him in better plays that are quicker. I thought we had some things figured out based on a week ago, you know we went through that two-week stretch where it didn't look very good and then went to Maryland and got some things corrected and ran the ball better, got the ball out quicker, that's my job and felt like we could push the ball down the field a little bit more against these guys, and it reared its ugly head again. That's me having to go back to what we're practicing and what we're calling and at the end of the day it's about making him feel comfortable back there, when he's comfortable back there he's as good as anybody in the country, when he's not comfortable, he's not. Back to work, I'll do a better job this week of making him comfortable with the play calls and doing things to get the ball out quickly and obviously trying to establish the run a little bit better too.
On Dylan Raiola's pass awareness
“We’ve talked about that, but talking about it is one things and feeling it is the other. You watch every game, college football, the NFL, that pockets violent. You’ve gotta put yourself in his shoes and make him feel comfortable and make him understand timing, he's a vet at that and he does a really good job at that when he’s comfortable. So that starts with me and that's my job to make sure he is.”
