Nebraska Linebacker Mikai Gbayor Pre-Wisconsin Press Conference

On Coach Rhule’s statement on a mentality shift
“It’s just knowing that if we’re not putting up points then we have to go out there and do it. The excitement, I get to go out there with my brothers and just make another play. Be with my brothers. Any time we get a turnover we just look forward to what’s next. We follow up with the ‘what’s next’ mentality so much now and it’s just a part of us. We adapted it to the culture and what that culture wants, what we want for ourselves. So, we can become a better team.”

On tackling the bigger guys from Wisconsin
“A bigger guy, we just have to put our bodies on them. That’s not hard for me, I’m a bigger guy myself and just have to run full speed with contact, every single rep and eventually punch after punch they’ll be down.”

On the environment in Wisconsin on Saturday night
“Just like every other, we have to stay locked on our keys and eliminate distractions. It’s good that we have that now so we’re ready for it, but mostly we just have to stay focused on ourselves and not worry about anything else.”

On Wisconsin’s known success during night games against unranked opponents
“What’s next, we turn on the tape and see how they play. We go out there after the game and we turn on the tape. We just really lock in with the ‘what’s next’ mentality, the outside stuff and what they’ve done in the past it’s new. We’re here in the present and when we go there, they should be ready. That’s it. Whatever has happened in the past it’s in the past, this is a new team and we are here to execute and win.”
