Nebraska Linebacker Mikai Gbayor Pre-Michigan Press Conference

On the game against Michigan
“We’re excited. You know Michigan is a great team. We respect our opponents but we got to make sure we don’t give them too much respect. So, we’re excited to go in and just dominate and just play ball.”

On the defensive’s play overall
“We just work well together. We communicate. We’re tough. We always play our defense and we just play hard. In practice Coach (Matt Rhule) is hard on us about getting to the football and that really helps us make plays and stop the run game. Coach White does a great job of calling plays and stuff. So it all comes together when we’re all out there together.”

On the challenge of playing Michigan
“They have a lot of big guys and we just have to be physical. Just like every other week. We have to play hard and we got to be the most physical team on the field. Every snap, every moment, we have to know what we’re doing and why we’re out there. One slip up it could lead to a touchdown. The biggest challenge is to stay locked in and to stay physical. Don’t let the hype get too big for you and just go out. Stay focused and stay posed.”

On the last time the Huskers played Michigan at Memorial Stadium
“I was not suited up against Michigan, but I remember we came and it was a great game. It was a close game as well. We almost had them, but almost doesn’t count. We just have to be more physical than them. I just know with that freshman year team if we would’ve been a little more physical and had a little more of an edge we probably would have won. So, we know what they expect of them.”
