Nebraska Linebacker Luke Reimer Pre-Purdue Press Conference

On the last month and getting back out on the field
“It’s been a little chaotic obviously, like I was in the hospital for two nights, basically three days with the infection and got back, and it took me a while for my arm to start feeling better because it was pretty sore. I was just super happy to be out on the field again and just playing football, and not having to deal with stuff like that. It was just completely random, but I was just really happy to be out there playing football again.”

On what he noticed from the guys during his absence
“Obviously the linebacker guys we have rotated times. There’s been a lot of guys that have gotten a lot of reps this year so they did a great job of filling in and I was just like watching the Illinois game especially, it was so fun to watch. There was a lot of guys that played it really good, like Nick (Henrich) stepped up and he played a lot of snaps. He played really good against Illinois. So, it was really fun to see him running around and having fun. Obviously Mikai (Gbayor), John (Bullock), Javin (Wright) there’s so many guys that are playing right now kind of that off-the-ball linebacker spot. It was fun to watch them play.”

On the team’s performance as a whole and how that affects each person
“It seems like everybody  is kind of eating right now which is really fun to see. It’s not just one guy, it's a whole group collective. We have James (Williams) stepping up his first game and he gets a sack and a half or whatever it was. It was really fun to see the whole collective unit just playing at a high level and making plays.”

On Purdue’s offense
“They just do a bunch of stuff, they are physical, they have a good o-line and they have good skills. They’re a good team, they have a good quarterback, and their running backs like 45 and 3, they’re pretty good players, we’re going to have a big task ahead of us, but we’re excited for it, excited for the challenge because they bring so many different things to the table. They run it well, they do all sorts of different things passing game wise. It’ll be a good challenge for us.”
