Nebraska Linebacker John Bullock Pre-Indiana Press Conference
On takeaways from watching film on Indiana’s offense
“I think their quarterback is super savvy. He’s an older guy. He’s a veteran guy so he picks up on the looks of defenses. I think just our disguises this week will help us a lot with that. They have two good backs that run the ball hard. They throw lines pretty well. They block well. We will be ready for them.”
On staying focused against Indiana
“They will run a lot of RPOs, so they’ll get the linebackers to trigger and then throw it. Usually he is reading one guy so he’ll look to the side he’s reading, that’s usually where he goes. We were taught this week that if he’s reading you then you have to sit. If he’s not reading you, you can trigger. He won’t throw it the way he’s not reading. That’s how we are playing it this week.”
On Big Noon Kickoff and defensive tasks
“I think we understand that we don’t have to do anything special. We just have to play our game. If we have an understanding of what they’re trying to do to us and just bring the right mindset. I think if we plan, we will play well. It’s just the mindset of what we bring. Obviously, it’s not a night game, but it’s a big game so I think our guys will have the right mindset for it.”
