Nebraska Defensive Lineman Ty Robinson Pre-Illinois Press Conference

On last year's preparation for Illinois
“It was a rough week of practice for us, especially after that Michigan game. The guys finally locked in. It was time to get things going, so we kind of took the same approach this year. Especially with the quick turnaround. Yesterday, Coach (Matt) Rhule took care of us but there’s a lot of mental work to it. We were doing spiders, today was a regular bloody Tuesday for us, full pads going at each other. Really happy with how the guys came out and attacked the work this week.”

On short week routine
“Usually we have that Sunday off to just come in and recover, take a breather, come and watch film. That wasn’t the case this week because of it being a shorter week. We came in, lifted. We kind of had our Sunday and our Monday combined. I was here from 11 in the morning to 6 or 7 at night, and we had practice yesterday.”

On 400 sellouts and memories of the sellout
“The fans here, I know they say ‘there’s no better place,’ but I really believe that. I’ve always been appreciative of the support that the fans gave us over the six years I’ve been here. I feel like there’s never been a drop. It was definitely weird during COVID-19, not being able to have everyone in there. Just to be able to play in front of these people who pour their heart and soul into us and want us to win so badly and be good. I think it’s awesome to be able to go out there and represent Nebraska.”
