Nebraska Defensive Lineman Ty Robinson Pre-Colorado Press Conference
On the safety in the UTEP game
“All week we knew if the guy was going to go down they would have a long mesh with their reads. The opportunity came and I saw the guy’s head down and I knew he was going to come out and block me, so I decided to take my shot. It was a lot of fun, it kind of put the last nail in the coffin for us to go ahead and play the game that we know how to play. Offense went back out and scored, just kind of kept rolling, went on a run.”
On the rivalry
“It’s intense, going out there, it’s cutthroat. Both teams going at it, you can really feel the emotion and the energy from both sides of the ball. The history that I’ve been told about from the older guys and even the guys that played here in the 90’s, I know that it runs deep, on both sides.”
On the opener’s fewer reps for the D-Line
“I don’t mind going out there and playing 40-50 (reps), I just think that the dominance of our performance allowed us to give everybody a chance to go in and play. I think Coach Rhule has done a really great job helping us go out there, do what needs to be done. Our scout o-line doesn’t really have any subs, they’re going today like 50 plays in a row. They’re putting their body on the line for us to give a good look. To be able to watch those guys go in the game and be a part of the game, that’s awesome. That makes me more happy than playing 40-50 reps by myself.”
