Nebraska Defensive Lineman Nash Hutmacher Pre-UTEP Press Conference

On being a Blackshirt again
“The feeling is the same every time, really humbled, really honored to get that. There’s been a lot of greats at Nebraska that have gotten Blackshirts over the years and they’ve elevated the standard for us. So my mindset is just once you get that Blackshirt, is that the standard just has to keep elevating for myself and all the guys who got it.”

On what he wants to see from the defense on Saturday
“I want, when we turn on the film on Sunday, to know that we played to our standard of football, that we’re playing big time football. Whatever happens is going to happen, but coming in on Sunday and turning on the film and knowing that that’s our standard of playing.”

On the legacy walk
“That’s awesome, being out there and being with the fans, especially with the kids. We were all those kids at one point that had big dreams and big goals. We looked up to guys like us. To be able to give back to the fans that come show up every Saturday and cheer super loud for us is awesome. Anytime we can be around them and maybe impact their day, make their day better, that’s awesome. It means a lot to us.”
