Nebraska Defensive Lineman Nash Hutmacher Pre-Illinois Press Conference

On what needs to change with the pass rush
“We just need to keep perfecting our craft and keep getting better every week. The coaches are challenging the defense every week that we’re a defense-driven team and that’s how I feel we are. We just have to keep perfecting our craft and getting better every day.”

On going in full pads the day after a game
“It was just a work day. I thought, as a defense, that we responded well to doing that and we just went out there and competed like we always do. We just kept getting better.”

On his thoughts on Coach Rhule saying Nebraska is a defensive team
“I took it as another challenge. He wants to challenge the defense. He wants to challenge us every week and we just need to keep responding and keep getting better.”

On how much Cam Lenhardt wants to get back out there
“You can just see it in his face at practice. He wants to be out there with us. He wants to be playing football and it sucks that he’s been sidelined these last few games. He’s really excited to get back out there with us.”

On Illinois
“They’re a good team. We have to come to play, just keep preparing like we do every week. The process doesn’t change. No matter who we’re facing, it’s the same process every week. We’re getting better and better and each game is going to be our best game.”
