Nebraska Defensive Back Isaac Gifford Pre-Northwestern Press Conference
On if he can relate to Northwestern players’ emotions about a coaching change
“Yeah, no doubt. They’re a team that plays for each other. When they lost their coach, everyone stayed together. We know what we’re going to get. They’re going to come in and play hard for each other.”
On how the defense adjusted to the loss of Luke Reimer and what it’ll mean to have him back
“It’s big, always, having a guy like Luke come back – an experienced dude. I’m glad to see him out there with us again. It’ll be exciting.”
On added responsibility of a single-digit jersey
“No doubt. You definitely feel that. I know, myself, I take pride in that – in knowing that my teammates voted for me to be one of the leaders on the team. I know I take a lot of pride in being that guy.”
On the staff moving players between positions
“This is the first time for me that a staff has done that, moving receivers to defense and defensive guys to offense. I’m all about that because if a guy can play, you have to get him on the field somehow.”
