Nebraska Defensive Back Isaac Gifford Pre-Northern Illinois Press Conference
On forcing turnovers:
“No doubt, we know we’re a good defense, but in order to be a great defense we have to force those turnovers and give the offense the ball. We have some stuff to take this week.”
On the defensive style at Colorado:
“We practice it a lot, obviously the week leading up to it we did a lot of tempo. We did tempo every practice and every team period. We were ready to go by the time the game came.”
On the coaches’ mental state during games:
“All of our coaches do a great job at staying calm. Just not getting emotional, staying in the moment and having that ‘what’s next’ mentality. It’s huge when you see your coaches not panicking and they are calm, as well as collected it makes you calm.”
On Northern Illinois:
“They’re a solid team. They’ve been beating power five teams for a long time. So they’re a good team. They like to run a lot of tricky stuff so we have to have clean eyes. I watch the quarterback and their formations.”
