Nebraska Defensive Back DeShon Singleton Pre-Wisconsin Press Conference

On senior day and his journey in college
“I’m always thinking about it, coming from my journey. Not a lot of people can say they’ve been through that type of stuff, but my focus is on Wisconsin right now. Every other time I get to think about it, I’m always thankful. I’m thankful for everything that I’ve gone through and that I’ve been able to persevere through it.”

On what Nebraska has meant to him
“It’s meant a lot. Being here with my brothers every day, being here in academics with them, practicing, lifting, it means a lot to me. Being here and now standing as a senior fills my heart. It means a lot to me.”

On the response from the secondary to the USC game
“The response was that we came back in, watched the film, watched what we did bad at, and made some corrections. It was really just execution. It was nothing crazy, just execution. At the end of the day, we had people playing two different coverages and it was just a lot of small stuff that we can’t have.”

On how he’s grown from different coaches
“It’s just prepared me for a lot of different things. Being with different coaches, you get a lot of different techniques and habits from them. Going JUCO, I learned how to be a Division I football player. Going here, I learned how to practice hard. They taught me a lot of different stuff. You learn a lot of different techniques, you learn a lot of different terminology. You just know the overall game is the same. It really helped me a lot.”
