On growing up around the program and what this win means
“It’s everything. We got one more game but I’m going to really enjoy tonight. It really isn’t for me, it is for all of us seniors and everything, but really it’s for the guys that came before us and stuck through it all. I think about all the guys last year, (Grant) Tagge, Luke Reimer and then the guys that stuck here - Jimari (Butler), Javin Wright, who’s played through injury, and Marques Buford Jr. who has had knee surgery two years in a row and it’s the guys who stuck here and went through hell, we finally got that monkey off our back.  ”

On halftime team mindset
“It was good. Getting the turnover into a field goal right before half, that was a big momentum shift. And then to be able to come out and get a stop, that was big for us. To win in the middle eight has always been on our highlight on our keys to winning, and we got that done.”

On what the huddle saw in Wisconsin’s offense
“We knew they were going to run the ball, obviously, and then throw the RPOs and they started throwing the RPO a lot more than what we thought. They had a good game plan and they came out and they executed.”
