Honorary POW/MIA Chair Nomination Form

At 11 a.m. on November 11th, 2018, the world marked the 100th anniversary of the Armistice that ended the hostilities of World War I. To commemorate this event, Memorial Stadium has designated a special POW/MIA chair. At each home football game, a decorated veteran of U.S. military service will take his or her post next to this unoccupied chair in honor of the more than 800 Nebraskans lost in combat, but whose fate remains “UNKNOWN.” The chair is located in North Memorial Stadium Section 33, Row 18, Seat 27. Nebraska will have an honorary POW/MIA Chair Sentinel at each home game. Disclaimer: Please understand only one veteran is chosen per each of the seven Nebraska home games during the 2024 season. If the applicant is chosen, you will be notified via email or phone, so please be sure to list the proper contact information. The University of Nebraska does not discriminate based on race, color, ethnicity, national origin, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, disability, age, genetic information, veteran status, marital status, and/or political affiliation in its programs, activities, or employment.
