On playing the best team in the Big Ten
“We came out, they scored on the first drive, and we had to bounce back from that. How to bounce back from stuff like that will dictate how our season will go. I think we did a good job on the sideline. Everyone was locked in. There's just some things we have to fix in practice. Little missed cues that set us back from being second and five to all of the sudden it’s second and ten and then you can’t run the ball effectively in those situations because you're set back so far. Stuff like that we just gotta fix.”

On what Michigan did to limit the rushing offense
“There's some things. Edges were playing a little differently than Northern Illinois, Louisiana Tech, but at the end of the day, if it's second or third and ten, you can't run the ball. Just little missed cues. Snaps, I have to catch the snap and that's between Ben (Scott) and I. If we have to repeat that a thousand times this week that's what we'll do. We can't put the ball on the ground like that. It's a wasted play. We know how powerful of an offense we are when we can run the ball on third and manageable, second and five or less.”

On how comfortable he was in the shotgun
“I think that’s somewhere where I do have a little bit of comfort, but at the end of the day we need to be able to do both things. We need to be able to run the option. We need to be able to step back and make some of those plays downfield to keep them from bringing eight guys in the box. I think a good mixture of both is the key to that.”
