On how big Jacory’s play was
“We were struggling. Hats off to them but also we were killing ourselves. We don’t know what that is but we’ll go in tomorrow and figure it out. A lot of games like that in the past have not gone our way so for us to make the plays down the stretch to win the football game is encouraging for us. We’re proud of that yeah that was a big play. Luke did a good job; kicked his guy out. We actually wanted him to be inside but he was outside. It was just time to make a play so we did.”
On the throw to Jacory in the second half
“The way the play was designed was to be a sprint out. I just knew that I wanted to get out and make something happen. Jacory ran a great route and they cut him loose. We made the play and felt from there we were kind of rolling from there. We just stood in there, and we kept swinging and they kept swinging. It feels good to make those plays on the stretch.”
On his conversation with Coach Rhule during the game
“Well, he came over to me in the middle of the game and said, ‘This is me and you,’ and that struck me. Then we went out there and we scored. He was just trying to tell me to take my energy, because I was juiced up, to the team and everyone. I told him ‘Coach, you know I’ve got blood in my eyes, we are going to win this football game.’ I wasn’t going to let it slip away. It’s something you train for in the whole offseason. You wait for a moment like that, so you have to jump on it when you get it.”
On the team’s vibe coming in and out of halftime
“There was a situation in the Michigan game where we had the ball and it was a tied football game and as we were watching the tape, we were like these are the drives that you have to go down and you have to score because you never know if they go back out and score. There’s great football teams in this league and you can’t give anyone hope, so Jacory (Barney Jr.), that dude makes plays left and right. Too bad the punt return got called back, but he does a great job leading alongside with the other guys, so hats off to him.”
