On turning focus to Big Ten play
“It’s not just because of the opponent we’re playing but just because it’s Big Ten play, and it’s time, the season starts right now. I’ll get it in and get it out today, watch this game and kind of move on from it and get a head start tonight and keep moving forward. We’re excited, we were grateful for the opportunity to play today, and glad we came out with the win.”
On Kwinten Ives
“It was good, it was good to get him out there, get him running, get him breathing a little heavy, keep him in there. It was good to see him run the ball, catch the ball, and do what he does with the ball in his hand. I am very proud of him and I thought he did a great job today.”
On halftime
“It was the same thing as last week. He did not get on us and he didn’t rip us. He just explained when you have a team like this and we feel like it’s not our best half of football and we just wanted to go back out there and prove that we can play better football. Going back out there and those guys held up their end and it was a successful win.”
On depth in wide receiver room
“They might go for 100 yards each. Who knows what’s going to happen. Dane (Key) showed up in the hotel room last night saying ‘I’m gonna have fun’ and he’s just going to do what he does. He caught the ball and he took off, so I’m super proud of Dane. I think we take our relationship for granted, just because we’re always with each other, but to see him have that kind of success and take it lightly, that’s hard work that he’s putting in.”
