2026 Women's College World Series Team

The 2026 Nebraska softball team had one of the most prolific seasons in school history, winning a school-record 52 games and finishing fifth in the national poll following a trip to the Women’s College World Series.

The Huskers claimed the 2026 Big Ten regular season and tournament titles and went 23-1 in conference play. The 23 wins were the most conference wins in school history and tied a Big Ten record for conference wins in a season (not counting 2021, as it was an all-conference game season due to COVID-19).

Nebraska earned the No. 4 overall seed for the NCAA Tournament en route to hosting its first Regional since 2013 and first Super Regional in program history. In the NCAA Lincoln Regional, the Huskers faced South Dakota in the opening round and downed the Yotes, 4-1. NU then took on GCU in the regional semifinals and finals and won by scores of 2-0 and 1-0, respectively.

In the NCAA Lincoln Super Regional, the Big Red hosted Oklahoma State, the No. 13 overall seed in the tournament. The first game was set for Thursday night but was eventually postponed in the bottom of the first. It resumed on Friday, and the Huskers came out with a 8-1 victory, powered by a three-run homer and five RBI from Jesse Farrell and a complete-game effort from Jordy Frahm. The Huskers continued to dominate in game two, grabbing a 9-1, five-inning win to advance to the 2026 Women’s College World Series. Alexis Jensen threw four innings and Frahm came in to close out the victory. Lauren Camenzind knocked a three-run shot to clinch the run rule, and Hannah Coor and Alina Felix each logged two RBI.

Nebraska went 1-2 at the WCWS, earning an extra-inning win over Arkansas in the opening game before taking losses to Alabama and Texas, the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds, respectively, in the NCAA Tournament.

In game one in Oklahoma City, NU walked off Arkansas in a 10-inning thriller. Arkansas took a 2-0 lead in the top of the second before the Big Red tied it at 2-2 in the bottom of the fourth. The Razorbacks grabbed a 3-2 edge in the top of the eighth, but Hannah Coor hit a solo shot to center to tie it at 3-3. Coor was hit by a pitch and Ava Kuszak blasted a home run in the bottom of the 10th to secure the 5-3 walk-off victory.

The Huskers took on Alabama in game two, falling 5-1. The Crimson Tide took the lead in the bottom of the first and never looked back en route to the win. Hannah Camenzind hit a solo shot to account for NU’s run.

Nebraska’s season ended with a loss to Texas in game three of the WCWS. Jordy Frahm took a no-hitter into the sixth inning, but a Longhorn three-run bomb erased the Huskers’ 1-0 lead and gave UT the 3-1 victory.
