Syed Hussain worked for the Nebraska Athletic Department facilities staff as a guest relations/security attendant from the fall of 2006 until January 2024.
In his role, Hussain served as one of the first in-person contacts for daily visitors to the athletic department, while also providing a safe environment for Nebraska's student-athletes and staff members.
A native of Pakistan, Hussain graduated from college in Karachi before working in the Pakistan Air Force for 10 years. He also spent six years with the Kuwait Air Force. After working for more than a year for an oil company in Kuwait, Hussain spent six years as an instruments calibration technician in the Saudi Arabian Naval Forces.
He immigrated to the United States and earned his citizenship in February of 2008.
