Steve Schaffer joined the Nebraska Athletic Department in October of 2015 as a Development & Ticketing Communications Manager. In July of 2016 he was promoted to Director of Development & Ticket Strategy & Analytics
Schaffer is responsible for developing revenue generation through strategic fund development, ticket sales and analytics. He oversees all external communication for the Development & Ticketing Department including email marketing, website management, donor materials and print collateral. He also assists in the management of Nebraska Athletics’ CRM data warehouse.
During his career, Schaffer has helped Nebraska ranked among the nation’s top 15 in attendance averages for 10 sports and the Huskers set single-season average home attendance records in both volleyball and softball.
Schaffer came to Nebraska from UCLA, where he was an Assistant Director of Marketing. While he was at UCLA, the football lead the Pac-12 in attendance in 2014 at 76,650 fans per game, an all-time UCLA record, while 2014 saw the largest season ticket sales and student season ticket sales in school history ($19.2 million).
He also previously worked at California Lutheran University and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
A native of Lincoln, Schaffer played baseball and graduated from Occidental College, in Los Angeles, Calif., with a degree in history in 2011. Schaffer is currently working on his MBA from UNL.
