Leilani Madrigal, Ph.D., AASP-CC, is a research scientist at Nebraska Athletics Performance Lab and a certified sport psychology consultant. Dr. Madrigal earned her Ph.D. in Kinesiology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, concentrating in Sport Psychology and earning a doctoral minor in Educational Research Methodology. Dr. Madrigal’s research focuses on the mental components associated with sport performance and injury recovery. Specifically, her research aims to further understand the role of mental toughness in sport and how it can be developed and maintained in athletes across setting such as academics, athletics, rehabilitation, and life beyond college.
