Katie Copeskey enters her second year with the Nebraska Athletic Department and her first year specializing in Life Skills. In 2007-08, Copeskey served as an assistant academic counselor, playing a key role in the coordination of Nebraska's tutorial program for student-athletes, while also facilitating numerous individual outreach requests. Copeskey also served as a mentor to student-athletes on the soccer, softball, women's gymnastics and bowling teams.
As a Life Skills assistant, Copeskey will be responsible for coordinating Life Skills Theatre, a Life Skills Conference for Nebraska student-athletes and an Involvement Fair. Copeskey will continue to coordinate individual outreach programs and assist with the Tour of Excellence, the "School is Cool" Celebration and the Husker CoNNect program.
Copeskey will also be responsible for the preparation and execution of personalized Life Skills plans for student-athletes from the sports of football, men's tennis, soccer, softball, men's gymnastics, men's and women's track and field and cross country, and bowling.
Copeskey earned her bachelor's degree in psychology with minors in Spanish and sociology from Arizona in 2005. She completed her master's degree in psychology with an emphasis in athletic counseling from Springfield (Mass.) College in December of 2007. At Springfield College, Copeskey was an athletic counseling graduate associate and a graduate research assistant for the National Football Foundation.
