K Patrick Kosena

K Patrick Kosena joined Nebraska Athletics as the administration and community relations assistant in May of 2021. In this role, he works closely with Athletic Director Trev Alberts and the rest of the athletic department senior staff. Kosena’s responsibilities include community, governmental and charitable relations, assisting patrons with special needs, coordinating special and group events and assisting with the development and implementation of Nebraska Athletics’ inaugural name, image and likeness program, “NILbraska.”

Before moving to his current role, Kosena worked as the athletic administration graduate assistant for Nebraska Athletics under former Athletic Director Bill Moos assisting with project management and workflow, ensuring effective and efficient operation. Kosena was also responsible for the planning, development, management and implementation of the department’s program-specific special projects as directed by members of the senior staff.

A native of Missoula, Mont., Kosena did his undergraduate studies at Carroll College (Helena, Mont.), where he was a football student-athlete under one of the college football’s most successful coaches, Mike Van Diest. He also served as a marketing/fan experience intern, athletic development intern as well as the head of basketball operations for the Carroll College women’s basketball program.

Kosena graduated Carroll College with a bachelor of arts in business administration with concentrations in sports management and marketing and earned his masters of arts in business with a specialization in Intercollegiate Athletic Administration (MAIAA) from the University of Nebraska’s College of Business in May of 2021.

Patrick and his wife, Cassidy, have two sons, Brett and Tyler.
