John Ingram was a longtime member of the Nebraska Athletic Department. He ended his tenure with the Huskers in April of 2023, serving in the role of Associate Athletic Director for Capital Planning and Construction for Nebraska Athletics. In his role he created championship-level facilities for Husker athletic teams and helped develop forward-thinking plans for NU's future facilities.
From 1993 to 2023, Ingram played a valuable role in the planning, design and construction of over $500 million dollars in athletic facilities projects. Ingram’s projects included the programming, design and construction efforts for the $155M North Stadium Expansion Project and the $16.5M Outdoor Track Facility, the Hibner Soccer Complex and Dillon Tennis Center, Francis Allen Men’s and Women’s Gymnastics Facility, new restrooms and concessions in North Stadium, new LED field lighting system for Memorial Stadium and a football practice field replacement project. His other significant projects included the Memorial Stadium Improvement Project that included the construction of the Osborne Athletic Complex, East Stadium Expansion Project, Memorial Stadium Improvement Project, Hendricks Training Complex, Devaney Improvements Project and the Haymarket Park Baseball and Softball Complex and he directed the development of the Nebraska Athletic Facilities Master Plan.
Ingram served on the Chancellor's Campus Planning Committee and was a past chairman of the Campus Safety Committee. Ingram also directed facilities operations and security for the Department from 1993 until 2010 when Tom Osborne asked him to work full time on completing 175 Capital Planning and Construction projects worth $150M. Ingram oversaw the Athletic Department Design Center staff that coordinate all graphics and displays within Athletics.
Ingram received an AAS degree from SCC-Milford in 1979, a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management/Distribution from Peru State in 1988 and graduate coursework in the UNL College of Architecture, Community and Regional Planning Program, Urban Planning and Design. He and his wife, Catherine, have three children, Cole, Rachel and Jackson. Cole and Jackson both lettered as hammer throwers for the Huskers and Cole was a member of the 2013 Big Ten Outdoor Track and Field Championship team.
