Dr. Guilherme (Gui) Cesar is a research scientist at the Nebraska Athletic Performance Laboratory focusing on sports biomechanics. Dr. Cesar has a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Physical Therapy, and earned his PhD in Biokinesiology from the University of Southern California. Dr. Cesar played professional basketball in Brazil and practiced orthopedic physical therapy prior to initiating his doctoral studies. His research focuses on dynamic stability during sport-specific maneuvers and on the prevention of lower extremity injuries. In addition to his research, Dr. Cesar is passionate about education and has taught physical therapists and physical educators coursework in anatomy, kinesiology, biomechanics, and wellness.
